New Delhi, Nov 21: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) who is currently on an official tour to the national capital today met the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism Prahlad Singh Patel and discussed matters about promoting and harnessing the state’s tourism potential.
Governor, while highlighting the vast tourism potential of Arunachal impressed upon the minister about the pressing requirement of exploiting the state’s vast tourism assets, particularly eco-tourism, adventure tourism and cultural tourism. Informing the MoS about the state’s vibrant indigenous faiths, he made special mention about the holy Parasuram Kund, which is one of the important places for pilgrimage that needs to be developed for more tourist footfalls. Governor suggested for early finalization of the project to assist local youths to have self-employment opportunities and enhance the local economy. In this regard he added that with the inauguration of Bhupen Hazarika Setu already made, completion of Parasuram Kund project will immensely enhance tourism in Eastern Arunachal Pradesh.
The Union MoS while appreciating the importance of tourism in Arunachal, assured the Governor to expedite the ongoing tourism projects. PRO Raj Bhavan
