ITANAGAR, Apr 3: Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) on Friday attended a video conference with the President of India Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu to exchange information regarding the Covid-19 scenario in the state.
Governor informed them that as on date, there is one positive Covid-19 case in Arunachal Pradesh who is a returnee from Tablighi Jamaat Markaz in Delhi. He briefed the President about the initiatives taken by the state government, preparations of medical facilities, setting up of control rooms, providing assistance to the needy and informed about the benevolent contributions made by the NGOs, Red Cross, Students’ Unions, Yuva Morcha volunteers, Army and social organizations. Governor said that people of Arunachal have welcomed Prime Minister’s call for the lockdown and have been very cooperative in its implementation. Arunachalees are also grateful to the central government for sending the monetary and essential ration provisions, he said.
While informing that he along with the Chief Minister are in regular touch with the District Administrations, police and the people, Governor shared with the President his appreciation for the frontline warriors i.e. medical officers, nurses, paramedics and police for their dedication in discharging duties in this risky environment.
Governor also informed that as on date there is no scarcity of essential food items in the state and free movements of these commodities are being ensured. PRO Raj Bhavan
