ITANAGAR, Apr 24:Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has expressed sadness over the sudden demise of Shantanu Shende at Kalyan in Mumbai on April 22 due to cardiac arrest.

In a condolence message addressed to C R Shendebrother of Late Shantanu Shende, the Governor described Late Shantanu Shende as a close friend and brother. Governor Acharya said that Late Shantanu Shende was co-activist in Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyardhi Parishad (ABVP) during his college days and then worked for the central Railway. He offered himself as a teacher to come to the North East States and taught in Ramkrishna Mission School, Aalo in Arunachal Pradesh.

   Late Shantanu continued for a few years in Aalo and then joined the Vidhaya Bharati Educational Organisation and worked as teacher, guide, faculty member of academic council. He later worked as General Secretary of Vidhya Bharati and toured all over the country to strengthen the educational system.

Governor Acharya called Late Shantanu Shende a wonderful human being, committed social worker and great teacher who was loved by thousands including hundreds of tribal students.
