ITANAGAR, Mar 18:A day after Opposition leaders questioned the ruling BJP government on rampant allocation of Untied Fund of 2017-18 financial year at the last moments, the government today in its strongest term has urged the Opposition to do its homework properly before levelling any allegation.

Speaking to media persons at Civil Secretariat, Government Spokesperson and Minister PHED, Bamang Felix asserted that there is no iota of truth in the allegations.

‘We are very much saddened that they have questioned  the developmental steps taken by the state government,’ said Felix while clarifying that nowhere it has been written that Untied Fund allocated for various projects should be consumed in a particular financial year.

Moreover the entire project allocated to each district will be implemented and amount will be only sanctioned or released as per the progress of the work, he added.

‘Even the Chief Minister in the Assembly had strictly said that all works will be physically and socially scrutinized to stop any kind of corrupt practices. So casting aspersions on the government is unfortunate,’ Government Spokesperson PD Sona said.

When asked about allegation of unequal distribution of fund with major chunk announced for Namsai district only, Sona said ‘there is no norm for sharing equal fund but they are allocated as per need basis.’

When asked about the difference of fund worth Rupees 60 Lakh for the protection of Boliya Baba Mandir at Mahadevpur under Namsai district and Rupees 10 Lakh only for development of a school, Sona  said ‘All funds are allocated as per the  proposal  submitted by concern Deputy Commissioner. It is not necessary to allocate fund to every school, however we will discuss with the concern DC.’

Earlier, Bamang Felix claimed that the recent Budget placed by the Deputy Chief Minister cum Finance Minister, Chowna Mein as pro-people budget and it will pave way for huge development of the state.
