ITANAGAR, Apr 3: General Observer Assembly Election, Manoj Kr Deka, IAS held a meeting with contesting candidates of 13-Itanagar, 14-Doimukh and 15-Itanagar Assembly Constituencies at Golden Jubilee Banquet Hall, Itanagar today.
While speaking to the contesting candidates and election agents present on the occasion, he informed them about the Election Commission of India Model Code of Conduct and asked them to maintain decorum and to follow the instructions of ECI to have a free and fair election. The General Observer also asked them to properly train their polling agents on EVMs, VVPATs, Mock Poll and other important election process so that there should not be any doubts during the poll day.
Further, he informed that this time ECI is very strict on MCC and serious action will be taken against the violators and adequate security arrangements will also be made to maintain law and order during poll day. He also requested the contesting candidates to take permission from DEO for vehicles which are being used for election purpose. He also advised them to discouraged money culture and encouraged voters to exercise their franchise in free and fair manner and deposit their arms and ammunitions at the nearest police station as per District Magistrate directions. DEO Papum Pare Dr.Joram Beda was also present during the meeting.
