Tawang, Aug 20: Girl students of government schools in Tawang district are currently undergoing basic classes on self-defense through trained masters in a phase-wise manner under ISSE scheme.
Basic training in self-defense for girl students from four government schools started on Monday and on the second day of training DC Sang Phuntsok made a visit to Government Town Secondary School Tawang. In his address to the students, DC reminded the importance of learning martial arts for self-defense which not only keeps one physically fit but also enhances power of concentration and boosts confidence. He added that although this technique is not an absolute necessity in day-to-day life, but it always keeps one prepared for any untoward incident. A few days back, the girl students of Secondary School Seru and Government Upper Primary School Kakaling were also imparted such training. 
DDSE Tawang Hridhar Phuntsok and department officials, Girls’ Education Coordinator, Headmistresses and teachers from various schools were also present on the occasion. DIPRO
