ITANAGAR, Jul 8: In a startling allegation, a 22-year old girl lodged an FIR here at the Women Police station claiming that she was sexually molested by a priest of the capital’s Don Bosco Youth Centre (DBYC), who is also the current Director of Childline Itanagar.
As per the FIR, the incident occurred in June last and came to limelight only after the victim posted the incident details along with the FIR copy on social media. In her FIR, the victim alleged that the said priest had molested her on multiple occasions while she was staying at the DBYC. 
When contacted, the Police Headquarters PRO confirmed that the FIR was lodged in the Women Police station on June 15 and the accused has been granted bail by the Court.  A case numbering 44/20 U/S 354 has been registered against the accused and further investigation is on, the PRO added.
According to the details, the victim had been staying at the centre since March 2016 for pursuing a vocational course in English and Personality Development and it was on June 12 last at around 8 pm in the evening, when the priest ‘misbehaved’ with her on the pretext of teaching by touching her private parts. 
Elaborating on further rounds of such similar attempts, the FIR read  on June 13 at around 10 am, the priest tried to sexually assault her again. 
The Director of DBYC could not be contacted for his comments on the incident till filing of this report.
