BORDURIA, Feb 10 : State BJP president Tapir Gao has lauded the role of churches in moulding society through their various works undertaken for maintaining peace in the state.
Gao was addressing today a huge gathering of christian believers on the occasion of the dedication programme of a prayer centre at village Pansumthong of Nokte Baptist Asathem Roapkhhoan (NBAR) under Borduria circle of Tirap district. He said that one should be guided by good people and remain god fearing. 
Emphasising on having tolerance, Gao appreciated the people of the christian community and urged all to come forward and shoulder responsibility for the development of the state and country. 
Former chairman of Rubber Board, Likha Maj in his address also urged the people to believe in god and remain god fearing. He said that the prayer centre dedicated today should be utilised for the betterment of the community, spiritual and devotional purposes and for reformation. He told that christianity has greatly influenced society due to which there have been a lot of peace and economic development in the state. He also assured to pay all dues of the construction of the prayer centre. A few years back Maj paid the major portion of the fund construction of the centre.
