GUWAHATI, Aug 11:

After positioning itself as a leading media house in Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar based S&G Printing and Publishing House is all set to make its Northeast debut by acquiring the region’s popular Eclectic Northeast magazine including online properties and related assets and brands of Eclectic Publications.

‘Going Pan Northeast is a logical extension for the organization. Our vision is not to limit ourselves to Arunachal Pradesh per se but to reach out to the entire NER. Through the eNe we look forward to bridge the expanse of space and communities and help shape public opinion while enabling the rest of the country to get a glimpse of the unique and vibrant Northeast,’ said Proprietor S&G Printing & Publishing House, Jarpum Gamlin, who is also the Publisher and Founding Editor of Itanagar based English daily, Eastern Sentinel.

Gamlin further asserted that the change of guard would pass on the legacy of Eclectic Northeast and infuse renewed vigour to its existence.

‘This acquisition will not change our commitment to eNe readers and advertisers,’ he said seeking the support and confidence of all stakeholders as the publication embarks on a new chapter.

For over 11 years, Eclectic Northeast has built trust and credibility in the minds of the people of the region and has grown in strength both in publication and online assets. Today it is one of the most read and credible media organisations not only in the Northeast but in India as well.

Managing Director, Eclectic Publications, Tanushree Hazarika, says, ‘Since 2007 we have built Eclectic Publications with great love and passion for journalism living up to our motto - We speak for our region. We have been able to build a readership base that not just pans the Northeast but across India as well. Our efforts have been duly appreciated and loved by our readers who picked up every issue from the stands.’

From baby steps, the magazine’s readership has grown to more than 2 Lakhs. The response has been tremendous and with growing interest in the digital world, its online foray has been equally successful. The Eclectic Northeast website today has 60,000 unique visitors and huge social media following especially on Facebook. It was also one of the few publications to cross 1 lakh likes.

‘The way forward for media to grow in this saturated space is to find mutual synergies, partners, or through acquisitions. The path chosen to acquire Eclectic Publications was based on mutual trust, understanding and shared vision for Northeast India. We believe this will help our voice heard louder at the national level,’ opines Hazarika.
