ITANAGAR, Jan 30: Galo Youth Organisation (GYO) has expressed resentment over the erroneous depiction of Kora Circle in the map of Arunachal and has sought for its rectification.
In its representation to the Chief Secretary, GYO sought rectification of the State Map in the Annual Diary 2020 issued by the Department of Information & Public Relations where the Kora circle of Lower Siang has been wrongly marked as "not yet finalized’’.
GYO claimed that ‘despite the fact that Kora circle is clearly mentioned in the Arunachal Pradesh (Re- organization of Districts) (Amendment) Act 2013, (Act No.2 of 2014) published vide Notification the 3rd March 2014 as an integral part of Lower Siang District, the diary by the IPR has wrongly reflected the area of Kora circle as "not yet finalized" thereby hurting the sentiments of the people of the area.
While strongly condemning the gross mistake, GYO has urged the Chief Secretary to issue directives to the concerned authorities to recall the erroneous diaries within 30 days and issue a corrigendum.
