TEZU, Mar 3: A free mega health-cum-eye camp got underway here at the zonal hospital with the aim of facilitating better health services to the poor and needy people.
The 3-day camp that started on March 2 will include free eye operation, administration of medicines and free distribution of life saving drugs.
While inaugurating the camp, Agriculture Minister Dr Mohesh Chai highlighted the facilities being launched during his tenure particularly blood bank, drugs de-addiction centre, availability of specialist gynaecologist, eye surgeon, anaesthetist, orthopaedic surgeon, access of digital X-ray machine etc. The minister promised to increase more of such facilities.
Dr Chai further appealed the doctors and para medics to work in tandem to deliver better health care to the patients and inspected on-going construction works in the hospital.
Addressing the doctors and other medical staff, DC Lohit Tapasya Raghav urged them to attend the patients like their own family members to ensure better health delivery system. DMO, Dr S Chai Pul, DW Thungon and SP Lohit also spoke on the ocassion.
Patients from Tafragam, Loiliang, Khoraliang, Telluliang, Tamlanagar as well as all peripheral villages thronged to avail benefits of the camp.
