ROING/PASIGHAT, Mar 11:  A day-long free health camp was conducted by Adi Baane Kebang Youth Wing Lower Dibang Valley District Unit (LDVD) in collaboration with District Health Society and NHPC at Jia on Friday in which more than 300 villagers turned up to avail medical benefits.

Services like free medicines, various tests including Ultra-Sonography, ABO Grouping, HBs Ag, Blood Sugar, HB%, HIV, STI and RMT were offered to the people and doctors also advised the villagers regarding food habits including timely meals and use of vegetables in their diet.

On the part of Adi Baane Kebang Youth Wing who initiated the free health camp for the benefit of villagers, Aling Pinngam, President (apex) and Nibang Pertin, President (Lower Dibang Valley Unit) have extended their heartfelt thanks to those teams of Doctors and nurses from NHPC and District Health Society Lower Dibang valley who have contributed to the campaign for the welfare of people of Jia and its surrounding villages.

Earlier, Pinggam had written to all the District Unit of Adi Baane Kebang Youth Wing to organize the such Medical Awareness Campaign at their respective districts in the interior place of Upper Siang, East Siang, Siang, Namsai and Shi-Yomi Banggo at Mechukha Sub-Division as villagers usually doesn’t go for tests either because of ignorance or due to the far off location of the medical centers.  

Pinggam has also appealed the state government to look into the infrastructure and equipment needs of the district health department in Adi inhabited districts. He also felt the need for timely recruitment in various post to meet the human resource requirements for better health delivery.
