ITANAGAR, Feb 19: Free cooking gas connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojna (PMUY) were distributed to twelve women of Gohpur Tinali under BPL category here by local MLA Techi Kaso.
In his address, Kaso said that PMUY scheme is a real help for women under BPL category who are unable to get gas connections on their own due to financial constraints. He urged the officers of Food & Civil Supply Department to consider more of such women in the outskirts of the city who really deserve to be benefitted.
District Food & Civil Supply Officer (DFCSO) Amit Bengia in his keynote address elaborated the system of the scheme and benefits. He said that in case of any complaint, the officers of the department are always ready to help.
City BJP president Tarh Soping, Mandal president Tadar Patung, SDPCSO Yumlam Achung were among others who addressed the gathering.
The programme was organised by the City BJP unit with Donyi Polo Gas Agency being the collaborating distributor.
