Itanagar, Jan 22: The Career Counselling Cell of capital’s Dera Natung Government College (DNGC) kicked off a Free Coaching Class for various competitive examinations for the academic session 2019-20 here at the college Conference Hall today.
Sponsored by GoAP, the course is comprised of 100 hours, spanning across 45 days and will benefit 60 aspirants. Chief Guest and Resource Person, Special Secretary, Education, GoAP Santosh Kumar Rai spoke about the importance and scope of various competitive examinations and highlighted the process of preparation. Principal Dr. N.T. Rikam apprised that the Free Coaching Class was earlier funded by the UGC under XIth and XIIth Five Year Plans but was discontinued in the last two years due to lack of fund. Emphasizing on the need of exposure to the level of knowledge to compete at national level examinations, he requested the aspirants to take classes regularly. Earlier, introducing the course, Co-Coordinator, Career Counselling Cell, DNGC Goli Nyodu informed that out of 157 applicants, 60 candidates have been selected, of which 50% seats are open to all, while remaining 50% is reserved for DNGC final year students. He further added that 2-4 classes are scheduled for each day of the week.
