Khonsa, Mar 27: A massive fire broke at around 6.15 pm in the evening on March 26 in VIP colony near NTC, gutting four houses completely into ashes. No casualty has been reported.
Although the exact cause of fire is yet to be ascertained, preliminary inquiry suggests that it was due to LPG cylinder burst from a house causing the fire to spread to adjacent houses.
Army team led by Major Tripathi Suresh from Army Camp, Deomali rushed to the spot and rescued victims’ families and their properties.
SDPO, L. Tatyo and OC N. Lowang with police personnel rushed to the spot to aid in controlling the fire. Former Minister Wangki Lowang also visited the victims and rendered help from his side.
