Itanagar, Oct 13: The 1st State Unit Coordination Meeting with Senior Artistes of the State Cum Interaction Programme was held here at DK Convention Centre in presence of several district units and senior & legendary artistes.
Addressing the presidential address, Arunachal Artistes Forum (AAF) Chairman, Takam Dado Tallo urged the state’s artist community to remain united under one umbrella and work for the welfare of artistes as well as state besides giving a call to strengthen the forum. Senior artistes namely Taba Yall Nabam, James Bisnu Nabam, Bengia Tabb, Neelam Pope,
Gichik Taza, Ha Nayum, Biki Para Tok, Toko Yallam Gem and actor Tai Tugung were among others who took part in the discussion. A resolution was adopted after a series of deliberations which included recommendation of Chairman/General Secretary in the selection board/committee during selection of state awardees, foundation day celebration of April 24 be declared as calendar event with holding of annual artistes awards, honorarium for veteran artistes, initiation of state awards to artistes who play vital role in the fields of national integrity, communal harmony etc, establishment of a school of drama in state and movie screens in every district including a separate one for Capital Complex.
Along with these, a two per cent seat reservation for Arunachalee artistes in government jobs, allocation of corpus fund for the organization’s activities, proposal for establishment of artistes’ village in state etc. were also parts of the resolution.
