3rd Bharat Lok Sangeet Arunachal Utsav connects with youth
ITANAGAR, Nov 23: The Arunachal Christian Forum (ACF) on Friday urged the Chief Minister to initiate an investigation against the alleged brutality of Indian Army at Longkhojan under Longding District to deliver justice to the affected people.
Stating that on the pretext of AFSPA the armed forces should not use excessive or retaliatory force especially against civilians even in areas declared disturbed where AFSPA is applicable, it strongly condemned the Armed forces for allegedly detaining innocent villagers in an open ground for an entire night without providing warm clothes, food and water.
“We all are well aware of the fact that the people of Longding district often find themselves caught in the clash between the militants and armed forces. The militants entered the village and demand services from the villagers which they have no choice but to oblige and once they depart, it is the turn of the army to come in and harass them,” it added
Further stating that such inhumane act by the Indian army was intolerable, it asked the CM to initiate police investigation into the matter and compensate the victims by bearing full cost of medical treatment.
