ITANAGAR, Jan 27: The Arunachal Indigenous Students Forum (AISU) today called off its proposed 12-hour bandh call scheduled to take place on Tuesday, following an assurance by the Education Minister to look into most of their demands.
The announcement was made by AISU, President, Techi Talik in a press conference on Monday after a meeting with Education Minister, Taba Tedir who summoned the forum for a dialogue on Monday which was attended by SP Capital and representatives of the forum.
He said after a threadbare discussion the Minister through DC, Capital Complex issued written assurance to look into our demands and requested us to withdraw the bandh call in the interest of the common people.
Meanwhile, Talik said that they are temporarily suspending their bandh call and will resume it if authority fails to fulfill their demands within four months.
