ITANAGAR, Mar 12:  Expressing resentment over the non responsive attitude of the authority, Likabali Anti-Corruption Forum staged a protest here at Tennis Court on Tuesday.
The LACF alleged that  MLA Likabali Assembly constituency Kardo Nyigyor is involved in siphoning off funds from different government schemes, notably the State Infrastructure Development Fund (SIDF), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), and North-East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESID). The purported misappropriation amounts to a staggering 16.2 Crore.
The Forum alleged that MLA Kardo Nyigyor utilized SIDF funds to establish a fictitious firm, M/S KGNF, ostensibly for the development of Malinithan mandir. Further it alleged that a significant portion of 10 Crore allocated under NESID for enhancing the Likabali township road was diverted for other purposes. Additionally, concerns were raised over the awarding of a 2.5 Crore PMGSY road construction contract to M/S KGNF, a firm purportedly linked to the MLA's family. Moreover, an additional 1 Crore 20 Lakhs from SIDF was allegedly misused at Chikurijo, reportedly situated on the MLA's private land.
The protesters are unequivocal in their demand for the immediate return of misused public funds to the state exchequer. Moreover, they emphasized the urgency of a thorough investigation into these allegations to ensure accountability and transparency in governance.
Meanwhile, MLA Kardo Nyigyor while speaking to the media refuted the allegation claiming it as baseless and without an iota of truth. Allegations are out of frustration, as some groups are claiming BJP ticket for the upcoming election, and probably party has denied it, stated the MLA. Police and investigation agency are there, let them investigate the allegation, he added.
