Itanagar, Jan 23: Former Cabinet Minister Jarkar Gamlin has expressed shock and grief at the demise of Jokey Angu, IAS (Retd). In his condolence message, Gamlin paid heartfelt tribute to the late officer whom he had known since his childhood and were close acquaintances. Angu was a remarkable administrator and worked with dedication. I have lost a friend. My thoughts are with the family and I pray to the Almighty to give them the strength to endure this very difficult times, said Gamlin.
Former food & civil supplies (FCS) and legal metrology secretary Jokey Angu, 63, passed away on Sunday morning at Aalo, West Siang.
Angu was one of the first-generation officers produced by the Ramakrishna Mission School (RKMS), Aalo. 
He had been inducted into the IAS in 2012.
The Officers and Staffs of HQ Office of Controller, Department of Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs, observed a 2-minute silence in memory of late Angu.
Joining the Department in bidding final adieu to the departed soul, Controller of the Department, Sri Minte Siga, recalled late Angu sir's contribution for upliftment of the Department at various stages during his 5-year tenure as Administrative Secretary of the Department.
