SEPPA, Apr 16: Former Home Minister, Kumar Waii was attacked by miscreants on April 11 last in between Seppa –ChayangTajo road. However, he along with his Personal Security Officer managed to escape unhurt. An FIR has been lodged at Police station, Seppa.  In the FIR, Waii claimed that a group of people equipped with lethal weapons attacked him and also assaulted his PSO as well as damaged his car while they were returning home after casting their vote at Waii Village on April 11 last.
The former Home Minister is a contestant from the 8th Bameng Assembly Constituency on a National People’s Party (NPP) ticket. The incident has also raised concern, as recently an NPP worker was killed and another assaulted in Tirap and Longding district just ahead of the simultaneous election in the state. ES Newsdesk
