TEZU, May 20: Forest joint night patrolling team of Tafragam, Tezu and Digaru Forest Range and Beats apprehended two tractors  loaded with Khair logs and two suspects from Digaru Reserve Forest today in the early morning hours while logs were being loaded for transportation.

Some more persons involved managed to flee into the thick jungle seeing the forest team, of which two could be apprehended after a good chase.

The seized tractors with tools and logs were brought to the Tezu Centrel Beat Office for further proceedings an inquiry.

Earlier in February this year, in a similar case three tractors laden with logs were seized after which no tree felling were reported and noted. All Forest Range and Beat personnel have been activated for intensive patrolling for effective control. However a long porous interstate boundary is the main cause of concern from where unauthorized entry to the state is taking place with forest officials helpless to curb the menace.
