ITANAGAR, Apr 23: Childline Itanagar in collaboration with Don Bosco Youth Centre (DBYC) and CWC Itanagar on Thursday organized a food relief programme for children below 14 years belonging to the BPL families.  
An initiative of Childline Itanagar, the programme was supported by Child Line India Foundation with active assistance of CWC Chairperson Advocate Likha Asha and CWC Member Advocate A. T. Thara along with Capital SP Tumme Amo. The food relief packets included rice, dal, sugar, milk powder, mattor, chana, atta and refined oil.  
Speaking to the media, Director, DBYC & Childline Itanagar Fr. Cyriac SDB said the activity was intended to deliver dry rations during the lockdown to the poorest sections who live in shacks in various locations of Capital Complex and do not have access to hygiene or daily basic food.
CWC Chairperson spoke on the theme of the initiative which was “Let no child go to bed without food”. Director, Childline informed the local media including DD Itanagar that in phase one dry rations will be provided to 100 BPL families having children below the age of 14 years and as per availability of funds, the relief will be increased further. Capital SP Tumme Amo provided face masks for those who came without wearing one and spoke to them on the need to maintain social distancing. Amo also made an encouraging donation to DBYC to continue with the humanitarian work which was appreciated by the organizers and promised to provide dry rations to another 50 families from his generous donation.
Childline DBYC and CWC have intensified efforts to deliver ration at the doorsteps of hundreds of needy families with starving children in Capital Complex and neighbouring areas. Childline Itanagar PR
