Ziro, Sep 4: Flying Squads constituted by the Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, Lower Subansiri District Tobacco Control Cell conducted raids and seized sizable amount of tobacco products sold around the vicinity of school premises contravening various sections of COTPA 2003.
In all, 30 shops located within the vicinity of various educational institutions across the Ziro Hapoli township were raided. A fine of Rs 6000 was realised from the shop owners selling cigarettes and other tobacco products. The team also interacted with the students of Dani Kunia Government Higher Secondary School and advised them against the use of tobacco products within or outside the school complex.
The team was led by EAC-cum-Town Magistrate Bamin Tarang along with DPO, NCD (NTCP) Dr. Subu Habung and police personnel led by OC Phassang Simi. DIPRO
