ITANAGAR, May 29:On Sunday evening, Poetry Couture and Ngurang Learning Institute came together to host Arunachal Pradesh first open mic poetry which was hosted at the Coffee Tribe, Naharlagun. The initiative was a collaboration of Madhu and Ngurang Reena.

The event witnessed participation from Jarjum Ete, social activist and former Chairperson of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women, Riken Ngomle, renowned actor, director and theatre activist.

There were around fifteen young poets who recited, along with the young Arunachal poets, Subi Taba and Ngurang Reena.

Earlier this year, Raghavendra Madhu was a resident artist at GRK Basar Confluence, one of Arunachal Pradesh's first artist residency programme in February 2017. During his residency he took few poetry workshops with the school. Since then he wanted to be back in North East and start poetry sessions involving the people. He runs Poetry Couture which is one of India's largest voluntary poetry initiative across many cities.

Madhu, along with Ngurang Reena will be hosting a poetry workshop at the State Library, Itanagar on May 31 next.
