ITANAGAR, Sep 23: First Lady of the State Neelam Misra while interacting with the officials and staff of Raj Bhavan today has appealed the people of the state to do away with one-time use plastic and minimize the use of plastic in daily life.
Urging the citizens to keep the environment clean, green, healthy and plastic free, she stated that every effort should start from home and asked the inmates of Raj Bhavan to cooperate in keeping the complex clean and plastic free. While expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his Swachh Bharat Mission, she said that this has been the need for ages, but leaders had missed it all along.
A documentary on ‘Swachh Bharat initiative at Raj Bhavan’, conceptualised and dubbed by the First Lady and a PowerPoint Presentation were shown on the occasion. Officials of Raj Bhavan, Governor Secretariat and ITBP personnel attended the programme.
