NAMSAI, May 17: A residential house was completely gutted in fire that broke out at Adi-Lane, Namsai at around 11 am today.
The SPT house which was razed in the inferno belonged to one Sunil Kumar Das, a retired forest guard. Although no casualties were reported, property has been lost. The exact cause of the fire incident could not be ascertained but electric short circuit is suspected.
On receiving information, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and tried to extinguish the fire. Locals and police also joined them in dousing the raging fire from spreading further.
A family member of the house owner, Sameer Das informed that the incident occurred when the family members were not present.  “By the time the fire brigade was called, almost 90 % of the house was burnt to ashes,” he lamented. ES Newsdesk
