ITANAGAR, Nov 22: Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar inaugurated the new building of Fire & Emergency Service Station here at Itanagar today. Commissioner Home, Kaling Tayeng, Director General of Police, RP Upadhyaya and other rank and file of the department attended the event.
Fire & Emergency service station Itanagar also received its first unit flag on the occasion.
During the inaugural event Fire & Emergency team as well as State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) displayed various modern equipment to be used during any kind of emergency.
Earlier, DGP Upadhyaya who is also the head of the F& ES briefed about the strength and requirement of the department. He also urged the Chief Secretary to implement Risk Allowances for firefighters.
Meanwhile, at least 10 firemen, one air force personnel and one civilian were also felicitated for their remarkable act in an emergency situation. Firemen were Ugim Rida,Bape Gamlin, Bagendra Kutum, Geluk Minga, Ngali Ronya, Damnya Gibo, Likha Dopum, Yomdo Gagan,Loluk Kamcham and Kime Laling. Sgt. AK Singh from Fire Crew Ziro and Eho Linggi (civilian) from Roing were also felicitated.
