Book on Traditional Festivals of Arunachal Pradesh released
PASIGHAT, Dec 3: About thirty-four grocery/vegetable vends were gutted in a massive blaze that took place in one of the APMC market sheds on Monday at around 12.30 am in Pasighat main market area (Gandhi Chowk). DC Tamiyo Tatak and DDMO rushed to the spot and took stock of situation. Fire tenders were pressed into service immediately to control the situation but nothing could be saved. The blaze caused huge losses, depriving many traders of their livelihood. Investigation is underway to unearth the cause of the accident.
Local MLA Kaling Moyong in a message to the DIPRO has termed the incident very unfortunate and asked the East Siang administration to provide all possible help and compensation to the victims. He also asked denizens to take all precautionary measures so that such incident could be avoided. Moyong appreciated the fire fighters and the people of Pasighat for their courage in controlling the blaze.
Meanwhile, ADC Tatdo Borang along with a team of officers visited the spot this morning. Borang assured to provide admissible relief immediately to the victims after receiving of the board verified report.
