Tawang, Jun 10: A fire at around 3 pm in the afternoon on Wednesday ravaged a tea stall and a pan shop here in the township, meters away from the SBI Tawang branch.
No casualty has been reported and the fire was doused after timely intervention by the local people and arrival of the Tawang Fire Services. The damaged shops were in the temporary sheds rented by Multipurpose Cooperative Society Tawang. Narrating the incident, owner of the tea stall and pan shop Nima Dorjee said that while he was cleaning the premises of the shops for opening them from tomorrow after the lockdown, his niece informed him about the gas leakage from the regulator and by the time he could do anything, fire broke out destroying all the utensils and furniture completely.
Officers from the District Administration, DDMO Tawang, DSP and other officials immediately rushed to the site which is not far from the DC Office. DDMO Tawang had taken the details of the damage and the fire services team had also completed the formalities. DIPRO
