NAHARLAGUN, Oct 26: As a part of the 2-day Children’s Film Bonanza, held under the aegis of Children’s Film Society of India and department of Information and Public Relations, two films ‘Hallo’ and ‘Gauru’ were screened today at Dony-Polo Mission school for the hearing and visually impaired, Chimpu for the benefit of the differently able children of the school.
While addressing the Teachers and students of the school on the occasion as the chief guest Special Secretary for Planning and IPR Himanshu Gupta, expressed his happiness over the cleanliness maintained by the school authorities and also appreciated the discipline of the students adding that other government schools should take a cue.
In his reply to the grievances put forth by the Principal of the school, the chief guest assured to impress upon the government to address the genuine issues on priority and urged upon the Teachers and staff to introduce more gainful co-curricular activities for the students adding that all possible help and support would be extended by the government.
The Director of IPR Obang Tayeng in his speech while appreciating the latent talents of the students requested the Teachers and staff to continue to work dedicatedly and selflessly to hone the inherent skills of the differently abled students to enable them stand on their own feet. He further said that films played a pivotal role not only to entertain the children but also to educate and keep them updated about the many splendid things of life.
The Administrative Officer of CFSI, Mumbai Rajesh Gohil in his address told the gathering that films would be screened every month for the students of the school saying that film was a strong medium to convey educationally enriching and issues and other useful messages vis-à-vis the society at large. He thanked the IPR department for providing a platform to show the films to the students.
