Itanagar, Mar 16: With the aim of realising the objectives of Hamara Arunachal Abhiyan (HAA) which is to create a safe, secure, serene, clean and green Itanagar, Home Minister Bamang Felix along with local MLA Techi Kaso, DC Komkar Dulom, SP Tumme and a host of officials, members and volunteers of HAA on Monday engaged themselves in an interactive session with the residents of Chimpu here in Sector 1 at the residence of Head Gaon Bura Tana Kuli.
Felix while lauding the zeal and enthusiasm of the residents of Chimpu especially the Chimpu Women’s Welfare Society (CWWS) for their untiring efforts to create a clean Capital, urged them to keep up the tempo. He said CWWS has set an example in cleanliness and hygiene for others to follow and urged all to get inspired from it. On request from the residents for installation of CCTVs, the Minister said the requirements for CCTV, street lights etc would definitely be considered. He however urged the residents who are capable, to install CCTVs at their own cost with at least one camera facing towards the sector roads and hoped it would check many unscrupulous activities. The residents gifted the Minister with a sapling which would be planted in his official bungalow. Kaso appreciated the role of CWWS led by its President Tamchi Kumari. DC expressed satisfaction that the basic objectives of HAA are being implemented by every sector members and the major issues will be attended by the DA. Dr D Koyu, one of the members spoke on the dos and don’ts regarding Covid 19.
Representatives from CWWS and the residents spoke about the need to have proper entry gates, CCTVs etc and requested for proper demarcation of ROW to make the sewage treatment plant at Chimpu functional and take strict steps to check drug peddling. They also underlined the need to have a drug rehabilitation centre and proper awareness campaigns about the ill-effects of tobacco etc and thanked the state government for the initiatives through HAA. SDFCSO and HAA member Yumlam Achung highlighted the activities carried out by Sector 1 Committee and lauded the CWWS for their cleanliness activities undertaken since 2016.
Earlier, the team led by the Minister also visited Lower and Upper Chimpu where mass plantation was carried out. DIPRO
