DAMBUK, Apr 19:  As a part of its interaction and awareness programme on various central schemes for agriculture and allied sector, Bharatiya Janata Kisan Morcha today organized awareness program for farmers in Dambuk Lower Dibang Valley District.

Addressing the meeting, President State BJP Kisan Morcha, Dunggoli Libang briefed  on the various centrally sponsored schemes  particularly for farmers  like Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (irrigation schemes), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and other schemes for agriculture and allied activities formulated by the central government.

He also urged the Kisan Morcha members to be vigilant and assist the farmers in availing all such benefits. ‘The schemes should reach to every single farmer of the state as well as country,’ he added.

 Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary State BJP Kisan Morcha, Sange Tsering Thungon opined that the BJP-led central government has  put special attention towards economic development of North Eastern states through agriculture and allied activities. He further elaborated the importance and benefits of Prime Minister Ujala Yojana (LPG connection), Soil Health Card and Crop Insurance schemes meant for farmers. 

Stating agriculture as the economic backbone of the state, Thungon suggested the farmers to prepare need based schemes and submit it to the concern Agriculture Department. 

Further, speaking about Bharat Interface Money (BHIM), a software application (App) designed to facilitate payment transactions using Unified Payment Interface (UPI), he urged the people to use the App for cashless transaction. 

Among others, BJKM State Treasurer and recently appointed Indian Agriculture Research Institute, National member Ojin Aje ,State spokesperson and Ex Minister Roding Pertin and 42 Dambuk BJP Mandal President  Datik Ratan  also spoke on the occasion.
