Khonsa, Sep 11: Coinciding with the launch of National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP) for eradication of Foot & Mouth Disease (FMD) and Brucellosis from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a simultaneous official programme was organised here by the AHV & Development Department of Tirap district in collaboration with KVK Deomali.
In this programme, which was attended by 66 progressive farmers, DVO, Khonsa Dr. Poddar highlighted the details about Artificial Insemination/Vaccines- FMD & Brucellosis. The above national level programme aims at vaccinating over 500 million livestock including cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats and pigs against the disease which will be  implemented over a period of five years till 2024 at a cost of around Rs 13,000 crore.
In another programme, Prime Minister also launched the National Artificial Insemination Programme and Babugarh Sex Semen facility. During his Mathura visit, he also started the Swachhta Hi Seva Programme from today emphasising the need to put an end to single use of plastic.
Earlier, Modi visited Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Pashu Arogya Mela and said that it is the responsibility of every citizen to inculcate the message of Mahatma Gandhi which will be a real tribute to him on his 150th birth anniversary, besides exhorting to put an end to single use of plastic from the 2nd of next month.
This programme was also witnessed by the AHV & Development  Department of Tirap along with the farmers from different villages of Deomali. DIPRO
