PASIGHAT, Mar 26:Stressing that digital connectivity  under BharatNet , which will help rural people in particular to avail various citizen centric benefits must reach  every Gram Panchayat, administrative centres and educational institutions in East Siang  as envisioned under  Digital India Initiative , Bharat Net by the Centre , Deputy Commissioner Tamiyo Tatak has asked all the stakeholders to speed up the works during a performance review meeting of the progress of works under BharatNet (USOF & NOFN) project in East Siang here on Friday last.

The DC reiterated to make internet connectivity functional in the Gram Panchyats at the earliest, under the Digital India Initiative of the GoI, wherein Fibre Optic Cable Broadband Internet connectivity is to be provided to all 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats in the country.

With Internet Services in rural areas, various citizen centric services like various online applications launched by the Central and State Governments like Bhim app  to promote cashless transactions, On line Jan –Suvidha for providing ST/PRC, Income certificates etc  land e-services of the various departments of Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh like facilitation of Driving licences, Vehicle Registration, Arms Licences,  and Data entry of election related activities can be availed

During the meeting, taking note of the implementation challenges faced by Contractors and Vendors and executing agency, Railtel Corporation of India Ltd while laying the fibre optical along various routes, he asked for proper coordination with District Administration, executing agencies like BRO, Highway Authority, PWD and RWD etc. As such projects are taken up for providing internet connectivity with focus on benefit of the rural people, he also asked to take the cooperation of PRI,GBs and the general people for the smooth implementation of the BharatNet Project. Proper Liasioning through PRO will help in proper coordination and cooperation, he suggested.

During the meeting,DC also asked BSNL as parent organization in the Telecom sector to provide best of the services to the citizens ,while calling upon to rise up to the expectations of the people.

The DC also asked to conduct regular joint inspection and to take up with authorities on any additional requirements and other issues after conducting survey.

DIO, Devaraj Singh, while informing that the Centre is keenly monitoring the progress of the Digital Initiative project for faciliting citizen centric services also stressed on expediting the works under BharatNet (USOF & NOFN).

Admin Officers, Officials of RailTel Corporation, Contractors, BRO among others attended the meeting.
