ITANAGAR, Jan 27: Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB), Itanagar, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, GoI today launched a 2-day ‘Exhibition on Life & Achievements of Bapu’ to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and 6 months achievements of the second NDA government under the banner of Integrated Communication & Outreach Programme (ICOP) here at the Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya.
Director, ROB, Itanagar Dr. Keshavamurthy emphasized the relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s values and philosophy of life in making India a peace loving developed country and underlined the need to keep oneself and surroundings clean to make India Swachh & Swasth Bharat. He explained the initiatives taken by the Government in the last 6 months and urged students to carefully look at the exhibits to learn about the schemes and carry messages to their families and friends to generate public awareness.
Speaking as chief guest, Director, IPR Obang Tayeng exhorted all to follow the principles of Mahatma Gandhi.
Speaking as guest of honour, Commandant, NDRF Itanagar Umesh Kumar Thapliyal appreciated the ROB for organizing such an informative exhibition and requested the parents of the Capital area to visit the exhibition with their children.
Earlier, pre-publicity activities such as drawing, essay & slogan writing competitions were organized on 24th last to create awareness about the exhibition and prizes were awarded to the winners today. Cultural programmes by local cultural troupes as well as a skit by students on Swachhta added colour to the event. ROB PR
