Naharlagun, Mar 5: The General Body Meeting of the Ex-Servicemen Association of Arunachal Pradesh (ESMAAP) was held today here at private hotel with a further call for immediate establishment of the Directorate of Sainik Welfare & Rajya Sainik Board (RSB) in the state.
Assistant General Secretary, ESMAAP, Nk Likha Tagu (Retd) highlighted the efforts of the association to establish the Directorate & RSB to look after the grievances and welfare of the Veterans, ESM (Ex-Servicemen), Veer Naris, widows & NOK (Next of Kin). While lamenting that Arunachal Pradesh is the only state in India without RSB till date, he also highlighted that both APSSB & GoAP are not honouring the norms of the ‘Ex-Servicemen Rule 1979 & 2016-17 Resettlement of Ex-Servicemen Rules & Regulations’ issued by DoPT, GoI.
General Secretary, ESMAAP Capt Mimar Ete (Retd) expressed angst over the fact that the file for creation of the Dte & RSB has been languishing in the Finance Department since 2018 despite Governor being the Chief Patron of ESM in state and also a Veteran Retired Brigadier himself from the Indian Army. Better compassion for the fellow Veterans of Arunachal Pradesh is warranted, he said and further stated that it is very unfortunate that APSSB and GoI have not honoured the quota reserved for Ex-Servicemen as per rules. Wing Commander Gyati Kago (Retd) encouraged the Veterans, ESM, Veer Naris, Widows & NOKs to keep high the morale and live life of dignity. He informed that the all-important meeting was held on Oct 16,2019 chaired by Chief Secretary which was attended by an Officer from the Kendriya Sainik Board (KSB) wherein commitment was given by the CS on behalf of GoAP to create the Directorate & RSB on or before March 2020.
He further stated that ESMAAP will pursue the matter of employment of Ex-Servicemen in GoAP as laid down vide GoI rules. ESMAAP PR
