ITANAGAR, Nov 14: On Children’s Day, the Department of Information and Public Relations, under the ‘Arunachal Rising Campaign’ organised district level essay competitions in each district for the students of Class XI and XII of both private and government schools. Active participation was reported from all the districts in the state, where the respective district administration conducted it through district level committees. 
Arunachal Rising campaign is an initiative of the State Government that aims to ensure last mile coverage of all the government schemes and programmes. It is an effort to educate all the citizens of the state of the various benefits that they can avail, that otherwise might not reach them. 
Four common themes were sent to each district, where the committee further passed it on to the school principals and the students could choose one out of the four. 
All the participating students would be given a certificate. Six winners of each district would be given a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 3000 each. The winners would later be brought to Itanagar for a final round of state level competition. 
To mark the Children’s Day, the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, various activities were carried out in the Capital Complex to celebrate the day with great enthusiasm. The District Administration Capital Complex organised essay competitions under the Arunachal Rising campaign for all the Higher Secondary schools of the Capital Complex at Govt. Middle School, ESS Sector for the students of Itanagar and D Sector Middle School, Naharlagun for students of Naharlagun. Students from more than 12 higher secondary schools of Capital Complex participated in the event.
The Deputy Commissioner Capital Complex Prince Dhawan conveyed his best wishes to all the participating students and asked them to give their best.

Mallo Yam Gollo, DDSE, also visited the schools and gave her best wishes to the participating students.
Various cultural events, games and sports, awareness programme on drug abuse, etc were also organised in respective schools to mark the day.
BOMDILA: Hundreds of children participated in the essay writing competition meant for the students of XI and XII thereby marking the first event of the ‘Arunachal Rising Campaign’ today in the district on the eve of the Children’s Day.
Altogether, students from eight higher secondary schools including a VKV participated in the competition.
In Pangin essay writing competitions were conducted by Department of IPR, Siang in collaboration with Education Department for higher secondary students in all government schools in the district namely GHSS Pangin,  GHSS Boleng, GHSS Rumgong, GHSS Pessing and GHSS Kaying. More than 200 students participated in the competition.
In Daporijo, a total of 24 students from Government Higher Secondary School Daporijo and Dumporijo participated in the essay writing competition.
