PASIGHAT, Apr 19:  The East Siang District Bar Association (ESDBA) which has been boycotting government cases for around 2 years has finally lifted the ban on conducting trial of the cases as Public Prosecutor (PP), State Defence Counsel from Tuesday, i.e. April 18 last following assurance of pending bill clearance.

It is to mentioned here that, due to non-clearance of pending professional/appearance fees as Public Prosecutor (PP), State Defence Counsel (SDC) and Amicus-Curie in the Court of Addl. District & Session Judge and the Chief Judicial Magistrate at Pasighat, the penal of lawyers under ESDBA had gone on indefinite boycott of government cases from 2nd May 2015. After the ESDBA abstained from appearing on or for government court/legal matter cases, the government establishment faced several problems leading to pending of many cases.

While informing about the call off, advocate Toning Pertin, President, ESDBA said that, the pending bill has been assured to be cleared within a week by Dy. Commissioner, Pasighat. “Henceforth, we have appealed and directed our panel of lawyers to resume and conduct their respective cases. ESDBA is thankful to EAC (Judicial) Kamin Darang and Dy. Commissioner, Pasighat, Tamiyo Tatak for their kind initiative to clear the long pending bills of the panel of lawyers”, added Pertin.
