TENGA, May 29: Tenga Valley Summer Camp 2019 was organised here at the Rest and Recoup Centre of the valley with great enthusiasm from May 20-26, pursuing the motto ‘Building Character Through Adventure’.
Aimed at developing love for nature, spirit of adventure, camaraderie and building character, communication skills & leadership qualities amongst participants, the camp was arranged under the aegis of the ‘Ball of Fire’ Division of Tenga Valley Military Station.
The camp commenced with OIC Camp Major CHS Aimol unfurling the flag on May 20. Activities such as inter-house debate & quiz competition, rock climbing and basics of mountaineering, yoga & meditation, rafting, trekking, firing, painting, mini golf course and visits to various places viz Bomdila Monastery, Eagle Nest Sanctuary, and National Institute of Mountaineering & Allied Sports (NIMAS) Dirang, were the highlights of the camp. Camp Fire conducted on May 26 evening was the fitting finale to an enjoyable and educative summer camp. Scintillating display of a variety of entertainment programmes had the audience spellbound, followed by distribution of prizes & certificates and a sumptuous supper.
