ITANAGAR, Sep 25: Officials and staff of the Department of Power have mourned the sudden demise of Executive Engineer Likha Taje who passed away on Tuesday after prolong illness.
In a condolence message Chief Engineer, Takar Mara stated ‘Department has lost an intelligent officer. He was awarded Gold medal by Governor on 15 August 1994 for designing and developing a low head pelton Turbine. In this hour of grief, the department stands by the family members of late Taje, he added.
Department organized a condolence programme at Vidyut Kendra, Itanagar and prayed for the departed soul on Wednesday.
The Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP), Likha Welfare Society (LWS), Likha Youth Forum (LYF) and Yachuli Constituency Employee Forum (YCEF) has also mourned the untimely demise of Likha Taje.
In 1984, Taje won a gold medal at national-level science seminar held at Calcutta for designing a hydro-power turbine. Later, the government of Arunachal Pradesh awarded him state gold medal in the year 1994 in recognition of the achievement, now installed at Hostalam village in Papum Pare district.
Late Taje also served as the general secretary of All Arunachal Shasikan Karate-do- Association (ASKA) during the year 1989-1991.
“ With Taje's death, the state has lost an energetic and innovative officer. The CoSAAP on behalf of all the state government employees pray to the almighty God to bestow strength to the bereaved family to bear with the loss," CoSAAP stated in a condolence message
Joining the condolence, LWS and LYF hailed Late Taje as an ardent believer of indigenous faith and culture and stated: “he was regarded as one of the renowned modern-day priest of Nyishi society”.
Likha Taje was born on 5th August 1965. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters.
