ITANAGAR, May 14:All Arunachal Pradesh Unemployed Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical & Computer Engineers Association has urged the state government to create adequate post for qualified engineers.

Speaking to reporters at Press Club today, President of the association, Ralung Rigum said since 2011 no new post has been created in government departments for the above mentioned graduates.

‘There are more than 200 unemployed engineers in this field and every year more than 30 students pass out  from various institutions under government quota and from private institutions  but  advertisement for the same is zero,’ he lamented.

The association has also appealed the state government to initiate a policy with private power developers to reserve few posts for the APST candidates in the state.

‘As per reports more than 150 MoUs have been signed in the state, so we appeal the concern authority to reserve some posts for the APST candidates as it will minimize the unemployment of engineers,’ it asserted.

We are not demanding any special recruitment but at least we should get a chance to appear in exam, as since 2011 there has been no post creation in this segment, asserted the General Secretary.

Further, the association informed that they have submitted memorandum to both the Chief Minister and Power Minister seeking their intervention in this regard.
