Miao, Jul 3: More than 100 Strike Force and contingency employees working under Namdapha National Park (Project Tiger), Miao today staged a dharna in front of the office of Conservator of Forest & Field Director,NNP, Miao seeking release of salaries. The contingency staff declared an indefinite strike on July 2 after the department failed to provide their salaries for last 15 months.
Speaking to media, Asham Mossang a contingency staff of the NNP (PT) informed that they have submitted a memorandum to the authority on June 1 last with a one-month ultimatum but despite the expiry of ultimatum on June 30 last, no positive response has come. “We will continue our protest because there are many people who are solely dependent  on their salaries but now we are especially helpless during this pandemic." 
He also requested the state government to clear the financial concurrence as soon as they receive the fund from National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) so that the salaries can be cleared in time. Responding to query, Conservator of Forest & Field Director NNP, Tapek Riba informed that he  has  already written  to the National Tiger Conservation Authority for release of required fund for the salaries of the workers.

When asked about the indefinite strike, Riba informed that government policy of 'No Work No Pay' will be invoked against those who skip their duties.
"We will definitely provide their salaries as soon as fund comes through but I will suggest the employees to resume their duties," stated Riba.
