ITANAGAR, Apr 8: The office of the Chief Electoral Officer of the state through a press release issued today has notified that campaign for the dual elections scheduled in the state on April 11 will end at 5 pm on April 9.
This is as per Section 126 of the Representation of the People Act 1951 which also prohibits public meeting during the period of 48- hour which begins after 5 pm on April 9 and ends with hours fixed for conclusion of polls on April 11. After the close of campaign, no person shall be able to convene, hold or attend, join or address any public meeting or procession in connection with election. There shall also be no display of any election matter by means of cinematograph, television or other similar apparatus to the public.
Embargo will also apply on propagation of any election matter to the public by holding or arranging the holding of any musical concert or any theatrical performance or any other entertainment or amusement. CEO Press Release
