ZIRO, Oct 31: The Legal Metrology & Consumer Affairs Department conducted surprise inspection on Wednesday at Hapoli Market and Treasury Down areas and booked eight traders for violation of various provisions of Legal Metrology Act and Packaged Commodities Rules.
Irregularities like selling of packaged commodities without the mandatory information like MRP, manipulation of MRP, over pricing etc. were detected in 6 trading shops while two traders were found using unverified weights and measures in their commercial transaction.
The Controller Legal Metrology & CA, Hoktum Ori and ILM (HQ) G. Singpho, who are on official tour to Ziro also joined in the surprise inspection. The team was led by Assistant Controller, Lower Subansiri, H Atung, Inspector LM Rakesh Teksing, and other staff. ES Newsdesk
