ITANAGAR, Apr 30: Terming the volatile situation in Koloriang Assembly Constituency in Kurung Kumey district  ‘beyond red alert level’, Bengia Bado, brother-in-law of the contesting BJP candidate, Lokam Tassar has urged the Election Commission of India to intervene and prevent further escalation of election related violence in the district.
In a direct call to the NPP top brass of the state, Bado has also requested them to direct its candidate for Koloriang to follow and live up to the responsibilities of preserving stability, peace and upholding democratic practices to bring an end to violence. He also urged the stakeholders and supporters of all contesting candidates to refrain from violence and solve any eventual electoral dispute peacefully, upholding the established institutional mechanisms.
Deeply mourning the demise of the GB of  Taba Village, Bengia Tamang, a brother in relation to him who lost his life in the spate of violent activities, Bado asked the stakeholders not to let a few politically motivated persons to take advantage of the unfortunate incident.
“The more unfortunate part of the episode is that a few malicious people are now exploiting the situation by placing themselves in the role of investigating agencies and declaring a few individuals as alleged perpetrators of the killing,”  said Balo.
“I appeal all citizens of Koloriang to refrain from civil disorder and remain peaceful and united to ensure that no force or conspiracy derails our democratic development,” he urged, besides demanding a CBI investigation into the death.
