3rd Bharat Lok Sangeet Arunachal Utsav connects with youth
ITANAGAR, Nov 15: Dr. AC Verma, Commissioner, (H&FW), Food Safety, Arunachal Pradesh administered the pledge “Eat Right India” and flagged off the Prabhat Pheri from Tennis Court , IG Park , Itanagar today.
“Eating Right will keep the mind and body healthy,” said Verma while addressing the school children, NCC cadets and others who came to participate in the march. India is becoming the hub of many lifestyle diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular diseases etc. Many of the disease are caused by eating wrong, said the Commissioner.
Arunachal basically is a place of clean environment and the tribal foods are nutritious and healthy, but the advent of fast food is giving rise to various diseases. So the students should become Ambassadors to spread the message and create awareness of eating right, added the Commissioer. He hoped that the mission of Food Safety, (H/S) Arunachal Pradesh and the Food Safety Standard Authority of India (FSSAI ) with the support and co-operation of all the stake holders will help in bringing a change for eating right.
Members from FSSAI with AV vans with logistic support were also present on the occasion.
