PASIGHAT, Feb 17: A one-day seminar-cum- awareness programme on PM Vishwakarma scheme was organized today by the MSME Development & Facilitation Centre (Itanagar)in collaboration with the District Administration and District industries Centre, Pasighat at the JNC auditorium, Pasighat. 
Attending the programme, East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tayi Taggu informed the participants that PM Vishwakarma Scheme has been launched by the Govt. of India for traditional artisans and craftsman. Scheme is designed for traditional artisans & craftsman and they should avail the benefit. He advised the gram panchayat leaders to create awareness about the schemes at the grassroots level. 
Itanagar Branch MSME-DFO Assistant Director PK Das said that the objective of the programme was to create awareness on scheme to the Gram Panchayat Chairpersons, artisans, craftsman and other stakeholders. He while briefing about the guidelines of the PM Vishwakarma scheme, informed that only Namsai & East Siang districts in the state have received maximum applications. 
Earlier, PD-cum- DPDO, East Siang, Tajing Padung in his speech informed that out of 118 GPCs only 9 GPCs have onboarded on the portal. He advised all the GPCs to onboard on the portal at the earliest. He also advised to recommend genuine artisans and craftsman of their respective Gram Panchayat. He also advised Common Service Centres operating in the district to take active participation as their role is inevitable in implementation of the scheme.
