PASIGHAT, Sep 22: A coordination meeting under the chairmanship of East Siang Deputy Commissioner, Tayi Taggu on proper implementation of 'Nal Jal Mitra Scheme' was held on Thursday which was attended by ZPC Olom Rome along with the ZPMs and GP chairpersons, EE PHED Oling Taloh and DRDA and skill development officials.
Addressing the house, the DC informed that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a call that not a single household should be left out of 'Har Ghar Nal Se Jal' noble mission. The scheme was being implemented in a very democratic manner to achieve 100 per cent saturation of tap water connection without any discrimination. Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) is a flagship programme of the central government to provide potable water to every households functional tap connection with a mission to improve the lives of the people by providing safe drinking water to every house. After going through the status report, presented by the EE (PHED), the Deputy Commissioner informed that after providing potable water tap connections directly from the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), the PHED was now implementing “Nal Jal Mitra Scheme” under JJM. The Village Water Sanitation Committees (VWSC) of the respective villages have to carry out necessary maintenance works in future by appointing skilled plumbers/laborers from their own. He directed the GPs/villages to submit the list of workers to his office on or before Sept-25 next so that Skill Development department could provide necessary training to the listed workers.
The EE (PHED) ER. Oling Taloh informed that under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, the JJM had been effectively implementing in the district by his department. He informed that under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) 84% households of the district were being provided potable water tap connections. DIPRO, Pasighat
