PASIGHAT, May 30: A coordination and review meeting on the containment plan for Covid-19 in East Siang district was held on Friday chaired by DC Dr. Kinny Singh and attended by MLAs Ninong Ering, Lombo Tayeng and Kaling Moyong.
Informing the containment zone protocols to be followed at community levels in rural and municipal areas, DC said that no containment will be needed if a person turns positive in a quarantine facility, however, containment of an area is needed if a person turns positive in the Hq or in a locality. So far, 640 samples have been taken with 486 turning negative and 154 results awaited and currently 241 persons are in facility quarantine in the district which is Covid-19 free till now. 
DC took stock of the departmental action plans for activation of containment zones, essential medical services to be provided by the rapid response teams, aspects of sanitation, disinfection, portable toilets, 24x7 water & essential commodities supply and sealing of areas, contact tracing etc.  Thanking the MLAs for their support to combat the pandemic in the district, she stressed on sustained dissemination of awareness and counselling of the vulnerable sections of the population and combating the fake news.
Seeking continued support of the NGOs and volunteers, DC also lauded the yeoman services of ABK District Unit, WASE, ABK WW, BBYK and other stakeholders during the lockdown and took stock of the measures taken at the respective sub-divisional level by the ADCs of Ruksin, Mebo and Pasighat.  MLA 37th West AC Ering called for continued awareness on preventive measures and acknowledged the efforts of the Covid warriors and stressed on extending best-possible facilities to the returnees. 39th Mebo MLA Tayeng underscored the need for collective efforts by all stakeholders and lauded the frontline workers. 38th Pasighat MLA Moyong called for maintaining the green zone status through strict screening of returnees.
